Project Overview:
I've successfully implemented a robust CI pipeline integrating various tools and processes to ensure code quality, security, and efficient deployment.
Setup: 1. Jenkins on Ubuntu: Configured an Ubuntu server hosting Jenkins, serving as the central orchestration point for the CI pipeline.
2. Version Control Integration: Initiated the pipeline by performing Git checkouts to fetch the latest code from the version control system.
Testing and Analysis: 3. Maven Testing: Ran unit tests with Maven, verifying the functionality of individual code components.
4. Maven Integration Testing: Executed broader integration tests using Maven, ensuring the compatibility of different system parts.
5. SonarQube Analysis: Performed static code analysis via SonarQube to assess code quality, security, and maintainability.
Build and Containerization: 6. Maven Build: Compiled code, executed tests, and packaged the application using Maven.
7. Docker Image Creation: Created a Docker image using a Docker file to encapsulate the application.
Security Assurance: 8. Image Scanning with Trivy: Scanned the Docker image using Trivy to identify and resolve any known vulnerabilities, ensuring the image's security.
Deployment Preparation: 9. Push to Docker Hub: Tagged the secured image, logged in to Docker Hub, and uploaded the image to a repository for future deployment.
